Carlisle Writers Group will be offering a writing workshop in and around RAOB club, Fisher Street, Carlisle. Weather permitting, we will have a walk along the riverside, where the Hadrian’s Wall path travels, and find inspiration from the natural setting, with the confluence of the Rivers Eden and Caldew, the trees and plants in Bitts Park and Rickerby Park, the ancient constructions of the castle, the museum, the Eden Bridges, and the Caldew Gate.
They will retire to the RAOB club to collate ideas, workshop some initial thoughts, and polish up a finished piece (hopefully!) Members of the group will be available to encourage and advise, and workshop leader Jean Hill is an experienced facilitator and wonderfully creative poet in her own right.
Please wear suitable footwear and clothing for an outdoor walk, and bring a water bottle. There will be opportunity to purchase soft or alcoholic drinks from the RAOB bar, plus Cheese XL crisps!
The event is free, but people are encouraged to make use of the RAOB bar facilities.
