Delivered by Tyne Valley Artists
Tyne Valley Artists are a diverse group of artists working in very different media e.g. sculpture drawing, painting, printing, glass and mask making, working with paper, wood and metal. They support each other in their development and meet regularly to discuss work and share opportunities and skills, and exhibit both individually and as a group. Some of them have had a long career in working in the arts as practitioners and teachers and others have entered or re-entered arts practice in later life. They intend to focus their work this year on the theme of the Hadrian’s Wall for the 1900th anniversary festival, as this resonates so closely with their identity individually and as a group. They intend to offer demonstrations and workshops to involve the public in our work and hope to collaborate with other agencies involved in the festival as well as selling work.
We are Tyne Valley Artists and have the exhibition at St Andrews church in Heddon -on -the wall from Saturday September 3rd to Monday 19th September inclusive. Opening times are 10.30-3pm every day except Sundays, 1-4. We will be closed on Tuesdays. One of the artists will be present each day . Our preview evening will be on Friday September 2nd at 7.30 in the church. This will be part of the wider festival of the Wall hosted by the Heddon community. Please contact Trish at alexanderandpatricia@gmail.com with any queries.
