Birds of Hadrian’s Wall – Willow Swift Workshop

The Sill National Landscape Discovery Centre Bardon Mill, Hexham, Northumberland NE47 7AN

21 Aug 2022

Delivered by NNPA

Work with experienced willow weaver Liz Beech to make your own intricately woven swift – along with the Curlew, an iconic bird of Hadrian’s Wall. Using locally grown sustainable willow Liz will share her knowledge of this versatile material with you whilst also discussing the star of one of the Lost Spells, the enigmatic swift.

You will leave with a beautifully crafted swift that you have created.

This workshop is suitable for adult or young adult crafters who are keen to learn new techniques. The group size will be small to ensure expert help is on hand from Liz.

All materials will be provided.
