Music and community event at Stones Barn near Bewcastle, North Cumbria with the theme of both ‘Light’ and ‘Roman’. Bands include: The Trials of Cato, Shallamara, Maddy Prior, Nev Clay, Andrew ‘Spud’ Sinclare The Brothers Gillespie, Herdus, Encore, Steve Wharton plus more to be announced… any changes to the programme will be published on Facebook and festival website.
Workshops: Singing (including specially composed Roman songs), Ukulele, Penny whistle, Clog dancing. Roman style country craft demonstrations, local folk songs, market stalls, storytelling and history, open mic stage, silly family games, locally sourced food and drink.
Archaeological guided tour of the Roman camp and the Bewcastle Cross next to Bewcastle Church. An all day historic guided walk for the more energetic from Birdoswald Camp on the Wall to Bewcastle and Stones Barn in time for the evening concert.
