Join trained Sustrans volunteers and staff as they cycle from one roman fort in South Shields to another in Wallsend and return. This 15 mile ride is suitable for families and will mostly be using the National Cycle Network. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult. Meet at Arbeia South Shields Roman Fort, Baring Street, South Shields, NE33 2BB at 10am. You will need to bring along a roadworthy bike, clothing suitable for the weather and refreshments for yourself. Please dress appropriately for the weather and bring along snacks and drinks for yourself. A spare inner tube, bike lock and some money may be useful as we often stop for a cuppa and some cake.
