Hexham & District Motor Club are organising the Hadrian’s Wall Festival Tour for motoring enthusiasts who would like to see Hadrian’s Wall Country. The Tour will cover approximately 130 miles and will take in Hadrian’s Wall Country and parts of the North Pennines. The route will take participants past places of historical, industrial and natural interest and entrants will be free to enjoy the sights at their own pace as the event is not timed. The Tour will start with breakfast from 8am at The Sill National Discovery Centre. Entrants will be given easy to follow route instructions and the first car will depart at 9.30am with entrants following at one minute intervals. The route covers many back-roads and by-ways and will take participants past castles, bastles, viaducts, hills and fells as well as sections of Hadrian’s Wall too. The Tour ends at the Twice Brewed Pub where food will be provided.
Entrants can use vehicles of any age and type, vehicles of interest are encouraged to attend. From vintage and historic types, everyday family cars are encouraged including hybrid and electric vehicles. Once all costings are confirmed the entrance fee will be advertised.Visit site
