Join Hadrian’s Wall: World Heritage Site Youth Ambassadors!

Delivered by Hadrian’s Wall Partnership – Funded by the NLHF, ran in conjunction with Blaenavon Industrial Landscape World Heritage Site.

Become a Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Youth Ambassador! Are you aged 17-24 and interested in World Heritage? Do you want to get involved in Hadrian’s Wall and explore and experience what the World Heritage Site has to offer?

Join the World Heritage Site Youth Ambassadors on both Saturday 21st and 28th of May, in the Heart of Hadrian’s Wall, and become a Hadrian’s Wall Youth Ambassador!

As a Youth Ambassador, you will:

– Make contacts and meet the Curators and Site Managers of Hadrian’s Wall

– See what goes on behind the scenes in managing a World Heritage Site

– Discover and explore the Hadrian’s Wall World Heritage Site

– Have a voice in heritage

– Get involved in fun events and workshops

– Create events and activities

– Enjoy free days out and travel on the Hadrian’s Wall Bus, the AD122, with your Youth Ambassador Pass!

– Build your CV

– Attain volunteering hour’s awards and certificates

– Help celebrate the 1900th Anniversary of Hadrian’s Wall

The introduction days will cover:

– What is a World Heritage Site Youth Ambassador?

– An introduction to World Heritage and Hadrian’s Wall

– Who are UNESCO, what do they do, what even is the World Heritage Convention?!

– Visiting a World Heritage Site (Hadrian’s Wall, of course!)

The introduction will take place at Vindolanda and the Roman Army Museum, lunch and refreshments provided.

World Heritage Site Youth Ambassadors is a National Lottery Heritage Funded project, delivered in conjunction with Blaenavon Industrial Landscape World Heritage Site and along Hadrian’s Wall with the support and collaboration of the National Trust, Northumberland National Park Authority, the Vindolanda Trust, Tyne and Wear Archives & Museums, Tullie House Museum & Art Gallery, Senhouse Roman Museum, English Heritage Trust, Hadrian’s Wall Partnership and the Hadrian’s Wall Community Archaeology Project (WallCAP).
