Delivered by Council for British Archaeology
Start your Festival of Archaeology journey at Segedunum Roman Fort. The Council for British Archaeology President, archaeologist and TV presenter, Raksha Dave will be there to launch the Festival of Archaeology.
Go on fascinating tours with field archaeologists, helping you to re-imagine the fort filled with people during Roman times and learn all about archaeology with handling collections, displays and a variety of hands-on activities.
Get to know your creative side with our pop-up art exhibition, provided by the local community, which you’ll also be able to get involved with on the day! There will also be live performances throughout the day.
This event is in collaboration with North Tyneside Council, Tyne and Wear Mueums, Hadrian’s Wall 1900 Festival and Segedunum Roman Fort.
Full details of the programme of events will be available soon. Contact: festival@archaeologyuk.org
