Reiver – Tales From The Borders

16 Nov 2022 - 01 Dec 2022

Delivered by Elysium Theatre Company

Elysium Theatre Company and Alnwick Playhouse present: REIVER – TALES FROM THE BORDERS by Steve Byron, starring Micky Cochrane, Steven Stobbs & Karen Traynor, directed by Jake Murray, designed by Caitlin Mills and Lee Ward, original music by Wilf Stone.

The Reivers: lawless families who terrorised the Anglo-Scottish border on both sides of Hadrian’s Wall for 400 years from Newcastle to Edinburgh, Carlisle to Dumfries, until King James 1st finally broke their power.

Steve Byron weaves three unforgettable stories together to conjure of a world not unlike our own in which law and order must fight cruelty and corruption: ‘Blackmail’, ‘A Godforsaken Place’ & ‘The Widow’s Path’: a farmer, a lawman and a young woman sold into slavery take a stand for justice against the power of the Reivers.

An gripping new play drawn from the rich history and folklore of the Border Region, adventure, excitement and intrigue for all the family.
