Do you volunteer as a guide or excavator on Hadrian’s Wall? Have you taken part in the activities organised by WallCAP? Do you volunteer at the GNM, or at one of the English Heritage Sites along the Wall? If you currently volunteer along Hadrian’s Wall, or have done so in the past, we want to hear from you! This interactive online workshop is lead by Marta Alberti, Deputy Director of Excavations for the Vindolanda Trust and PhD candidate with Newcastle University. Through fun and engaging online activities, you will have a chance to explore why you, and many like you, volunteer on Hadrian’s Wall. We will talk about Participatory Action Research, and how volunteers can be agents of change in the landscape of Hadrian’s Wall. The event will take place on Zoom, will be recorded and forms part of a PhD project data collection. There will be opportunities for you not only to share your thoughts and have fun, but to work together and to produce and co-author a poster on Volunteering on the Wall, which will be displayed -with your names!- at a suitable academic conference. Let’s have your voice heard!
