Delivered by Maureen Lawrie (Stanegate Productions) and Brampton Community Centre
Wall.three.words is a community arts project happening this Autumn at Brampton Community Centre. The project celebrates 1900 years of Hadrian’s Wall through poetry and art using the What3words app as a basis for creative inspiration. You will work with award winning poet, James Oates, to develop poetry using the What3words app on the Lanercost to Birdoswald section of the Wall. In this introductory workshop James will take you through a creative process to help you get started and unlock your creativity. There will be examples and exercises to try before choosing your 3m square and its randomly generated words. This is the first of two workshops and will lead to an exhibition featuring your poetry on page and/or film. This project was awarded funding through the Hadrian’s Wall 1900 Festival’s Community Grants scheme.
Suitable for absolute beginners to intermediate. Age 16+
